  1. Use a 2.5mm hex key to remove the four (4) top-plate fasteners from the recoater. Remove the old top-plate from the recoater.

  2. Use a 2.0mm hex key to adjust the set screws that govern the distance between the recoater and the top-plate. Use the new top-plate to verify all set screws are equally raised. Install the top-plate using the 2.5mm hex key to tighten the (4) top-plate fasteners.

  3. The front powder chute-facing side of the recoater has no bolts along the logo panel's cut-outs. The sloped edges of the top-plate must be on the front powder chute facing side of the recoater.

  4. Do not move the recoater carriage forward or backward if the build platform is raised above the chamber floor. Doing so while the recoater is installed may damage the carriage motor. Use the "Front" command on the Manual Control tab in the MSC to bring the empty recoater carriage forward. Use the TX25x89 bit to fasten the recoater carriage with the six (6) torx head bolts .   5. Use the "Back" command on the Manual Control tab in the MSC to return the carriage to the powder chute. The gap between the top-plate and the powder chute silicone ring must be at least 100 microns thick. Standard printer paper is ~100 microns thick and may be used to verify the correct gap distance.
